Roundabout Travel · Ljubljana

A half day with both tickets

Roundabout Travel takes up to eight people from the Eurostars uHotel in Ljubljana to Predjama Castle and Postojna Cave, with both entrance tickets paid. It's the tickets-included trip with the smallest group and you're back by early afternoon.

Postojna Cave & Castle Half Day, All Tickets Included

About this experience

You meet by the water fountain in front of the Eurostars uHotel on Miklošičeva cesta at 8:30 AM, a short walk from the old town. The group is eight at most, guests have reported tours with only four on board, and the entrance fees for both sights are in the price. The listing plans an hour at Predjama Castle and an hour and a half at Postojna Cave, and the tour ends back at the fountain.

The small group is the point. With eight people the guide can buy tickets, walk you to the right cave entrance and fit around kids: one family travelling with children of 6, 4 and 1 wrote that the company provided car seats. Inside, the park's guides and audio guides do the explaining, at the cave and at the castle.

Read the reviews before you book if you expect a full guided tour. A few guests felt it was mostly transport plus tickets, and some wanted more time at the sites. For about $10 less per person than the To do in Slovenia trip you get a smaller group, but only a morning start.

What guests say

★★★★★

Trip included all costs, including tickets to the cave and castle, and a quite good audio guide for the castle. The guide seemed quite knowledgeable about what to expect during the experiences as well as Slovenian history.

Miha was an amazing tour guide! We traveled with our 3 small children - ages 6, 4, and 1 - and the tour was perfect for our family. The company provided car seats which made it very easy for us to enjoy with no added stress.

there were only four of us on the tour which was great [...] the whole tour was very punctual, he gave us a personal tour of the castle and made sure we were in the right spot for the cave tour

What a wonderful day we had. Both the cave and the castle were incredible & must not be missed. Our driver Faris was a great source of information, professional, friendly & an all round great guy.

Tips before you book

  • Bring warm clothes for the cave. A guest noted cloaks for rent at the entrance; the park hires rain jackets for EUR 8.
  • Older travellers: a guest wrote that "the walk in the caves is quite long with a lot of hills". Take it slowly.
  • Ask for the front seat if you get car sick. One guest did and got it.
  • Mention car seats when you book if you bring young children.
